The Sisterhood Summit: Building Your Global “92%” Tribe
I remember sitting in my dorm room at the University of Michigan, staring at my business plan and realizing that while my vision was mine, the execution was going to require a village. I wasn’t just looking for “friends” to hang out with on the Diag; I was looking for my “92%” tribe…the sisters who would hold the line with me when the world gets loud.
Whether you are navigating high school or balancing your first year of college, you have to understand that your “network” is your net worth. I know, I know…that good old saying. But we aren’t talking about that stiff, corporate style of networking. We are talking about the Sisterhood Summit…the intentional act of finding your global collective of Scholar Goddesses.
The Strategy of the 92%
As Black females, we are often told we have to compete for the one seat at the table. In 2026, we are rejecting that narrative. We are building our own tables, and we are making sure those tables have room for our sisters across the globe.
The Gilded Perimeter of Your Circle: You are at a stage in your life where everyone wants a piece of your energy. But as we’ve discussed in our Amara principles, your energy is a premium asset. You need to audit your circle. Are the girls around you fueling your “Scholar Goddess” intellect, or are they draining your glow with “Dusty” drama? Your tribe should be full of young women who respect your “Gilded No” and celebrate your “Follicular” wins.
Networking with Global Intention: Don’t limit your sisterhood to your zip code. Use your digital presence to connect with young women who are doing what you want to do. If you’re a filmmaker, find a sister in London or Lagos who is picking up a camera. If you’re in business, connect with the Sisters scaling their brands in Atlanta or New York or Paris. When we share our pinkprints globally, we become an unshakeable economic force.
Mentorship is a Two-Way Street: Through our Legacy Letters project, others and I have seen firsthand the power of collegiate mentors pouring into younger scholars. But don’t wait for a formal program to be a leader. You can be a mentor to the girl a year behind you while being a mentee to the woman ten years ahead of you. This “middle man” position is where the most growth happens. It keeps you humble, and it keeps you sharp.
The Closing Message
To my sisters who feel like they haven’t found their “people” yet: keep your frequency high. When you walk in your purpose and maintain your Amara standards, you become a magnet for the right energy. You are not “alone” in your ambition; you are just waiting for the rest of the tribe to catch up to your light.
Stay feminine, stay focused, and remember: Your sisterhood is your superpower. You are a Goddess who knows that we go further when we go together, and your collective is your greatest strength. You’re just a woman, but the world is reshaped by the unity of the sisters you choose to stand with.
With love,
