The Mindset Glow Up : Reclaiming Your Power
Something has been weighing on my heart lately: How do we keep our heads high and our spirits soft when the world outside feels like it’s constantly trying to harden us?
Today marks the Winter Solstice; the shortest day of the year. In nature, this is the moment of maximum darkness before the light starts its slow return. It’s the perfect time to talk about the “Mindset Glow Up.” We are living through a challenging era, navigating an administration and a social climate that often feels at odds with our progress as Black women. But a visionary knows that her internal climate is the only one she truly answers to.
Whether you’re worried about the economy or just feeling the heavy energy of the news cycle, your glow-up isn’t just about the physical. It’s about transforming your mind and your money so that you are unshakeable, no matter who is in office.
The Financial & Mental Fortification
At this stage in our lives, we are building the habits that will define our future. We can’t control the global markets, but we can control our own “Personal Economy.”
- The Mindset Shift: Stop consuming “outrage content.” If you’re spending hours scrolling through things that make you feel fearful or powerless, you are paying with your peace. Reclaim that time. Spend it on books, podcasts, and conversations that teach you how to build, lead, and thrive. You are a “Scholar Goddess”…act like it.
- Economic Defense: In a “trying” administration, cash and credit are your tools for autonomy. Review your spending one last time before the year ends. Are you leaking money into subscriptions or habits that don’t serve your evolution? Tighten your belt now so you can invest in the assets, like your education or a small business, that will give you long-term freedom.
- The “Glow Up” Practice: Take ten minutes every morning to visualize the woman you are becoming. Not the woman the world says you should be, but the woman you see in your vision board. Speak your intentions out loud. There is power in your tongue, and your brain needs to hear you claim your victory before the world can see it.
Navigating the Shadows
It’s okay to acknowledge that things feel heavy. You don’t have to “positive vibes” your way through a difficult reality. But you do have to decide that the darkness won’t win. Transforming your mindset means looking at a obstacle and seeing a training ground.
When the world tries to shrink your presence, take up more space. When it tries to dim your light, glow brighter. We aren’t just “getting by” this winter; we are preparing for a spring that the world isn’t even ready for.
Stay feminine, stay focused, and remember: Your mind is the only territory that can never be colonized. You are a Goddess who knows that her internal peace is her ultimate power, and your resilience is a masterpiece in progress. You’re just a woman, but the world is reshaped by the clarity of your vision.
With love,
