The Sanctuary Edit

I was sitting in my room today and realized that the four walls we sleep in are either a breeding ground for our anxiety or a greenhouse for our growth.

Especially as we navigate the intensity of high school or college life or those first few years of building a career, our “space” is often limited to a dorm or a small bedroom. But a Goddess knows that your sanctuary isn’t about the square footage; it’s about the spirit you invite into it. For me, holiday decor isn’t just about glitter and lights. It’s about gratitude and grounding.

Commemorating the Lineage Before you put up a single string of lights, I want you to look at your space and find a home for your ancestors. I’ve created corners in my room dedicated to surrounding me with the women who carried the weight so I could carry the torch.

  • The Ancestral Anchor: Place a framed photo or a keepsake from a grandmother or auntie who is no longer with us. Surround it with a bit of greenery or a candle. It’s a way of saying, “I see you, I thank you, and you are welcome in my space.”
  • Dorm-Friendly Spirit: If you’re in a dorm, use soft textures to elevate the vibe: velvet pillows in deep jewel tones or a faux-fur throw. It adds a layer of luxury that makes you feel soft and protected even when the outside world feels harsh.
  • The Scent of Peace: Swap those harsh seasonal sprays for something more natural. A lavender and eucalyptus diffuser can help lower your cortisol levels after a long day of classes, helping you transition from “the grind” back into your “glow.”

As you curate your space this month, remember that you are setting the stage for your future. When you walk through your door, you should feel a sigh of relief. You deserve a home that reflects the high standards you keep for yourself and the atmosphere of those who inspire you so that that motivation continues!

Stay feminine, stay focused, and remember: Your environment is the silent architect of your mood. You are a Goddess who knows that a sacred space is the foundation of a sacred life, and your peace is your highest priority. You’re just a woman, but the world finds its stillness in the sanctuary you choose to build.

With love,
