The PinkPrint For Our Future: Why Tomorrow Matters

Hey Pretty Girls! Tomorrow, we aren’t just checking a box. We’re choosing the architect for the next chapter of our lives.

As I sit here tonight, I’m feeling the weight of the moment. At 19, this is my first time participating in a presidential election, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. Through the Alona Leoine Foundation, I’m always talking to you all about building a solid foundation for your life and your community. Part of that foundation is voting and understanding the leadership we choose to represent us on the world stage.

When I look at the choice between Vice President Kamala Harris and Former President Donald Trump (still wondering how that even became a thing knowing what we know about him), I see two completely different visions for our future that I’m sure the country will have a long time of recovery from if we choose wrong. For me, and for the women I’m helping to build up through my work, the choice is clear.

The Standard of Excellence

I’ve spent this year leaning into my inner Whitley Gilbert; focusing on high standards, education, and the poise it takes to lead. Kamala Harris embodies that level of excellence. And clearly NOT Donald Trump!

  • Representation with Substance: Seeing a Black and South Asian woman in the highest seat of power isn’t just about the “firsts.” It’s about having someone who understands our unique struggles and our potential. She represents the “Scholar Goddess” energy we all strive for.
  • Protecting Our Autonomy: As women, our right to choose what happens to our own bodies is non-negotiable. I’m not just talking about the ability to abort or not to abort. Kamala has been a fierce advocate for reproductive rights, yes, though I believe we need her in the White House to ensure our agency is never stripped away on ANY level.
  • Economic Vision: Her plans to support small businesses and first-time homebuyers directly impact the “entrepreneurial spirit” I see in so many of us. She is building a path where we can actually own the spaces we occupy.

The Contrast in Leadership

On the other side, we have to look at the reality of what a second Trump term would mean. While I understand the desire for a “strong” leader, true strength isn’t found in divisiveness or rhetoric that targets the most vulnerable in our community.

  • The Social Climate: We are trying to build a world rooted in progress, grace, and mutual respect. The energy surrounding Trump’s campaign often feels like the opposite of the sanctuary we are trying to create for ourselves.
  • Rights at Risk: From judicial appointments to policies that affect our civil liberties, the stakes are simply too high to stay home. We can’t afford to move backward when we’ve worked so hard to push the needle forward.

Our Collective Power

To my sisters who are between 18 and 24, your voice is the most powerful tool you have right now. Don’t let anyone tell you that your vote doesn’t count. We are the generation that gets to decide what the new outline for America looks like.

I’m channeling a bit of that Dominique La’Rue mystery and power tomorrow, too. Showing up with quiet confidence and the knowledge that I am playing a part in a much larger story. Whether you’re voting for the President for the first time like me or you’ve been through this before, I want you to walk into that booth knowing you are a visionary. And who you choose speaks towards the vision you want to see.

Go out there, take your village with you, and let’s choose the path that leads to our growth, our safety, and our excellence.

Stay feminine, stay focused, and remember: Your vote is your signature on history. You are a Goddess who knows that true power is found in her participation, and your choice is a sacred act. You’re just a woman, but the world is reshaped by the courage of the decisions you make.

With love,
